Being supported by a very close knit family firm in their faith, this dynamic mother of three is aiming high. Lorna will be jetting off to Atlanta, Georgia later this month to represent the continent of Africa at the Mrs Transcontinental Pageant and is very excited to do so.
Lorna is all about the empowerment of woman, and it shows in the work she does. “I am the owner and founder of the Melville Wellness Centre and Day spa, it is from here that I host my woman empowering program, where I educate, uplift and inspire woman to give them hope and a future.”
She is also very passionate about inspiring others by sharing her family’s story and helping others. “My ambition is to be the change that I want to see, whether it is providing a smile to someone in need, or picking up a paper to keep our country clean. Any small deed done by many can make a huge difference.”
She hopes that this international title will provide a larger platform to spread her message and help as many people as possible. An avid supporter of the Africa Pageants Foundation charity, Dignity Dreams, she has already raised over R100 000 towards this cause.
” I have learned so much about myself through my short time in pageants, and I have seen what an incredible platform they can provide, so I would encourage woman to enter pageants. But I believe that is very important to always stay true to yourself, be real and be the best you that you can be.”
We wish Lorna the absolute best in her journey, Africa is behind you all the way!

Charmaine has her eyes on the prize as she prepares to represent South Africa at the Mrs Globe Classic International which is set to be held in Las Vegas this June.
“I want to win Mrs Globe International to have a bigger platform to reach and help more abused woman and children. I would like to become involved in the International Pageants Charity called the WIN Foundation and learn how to make a bigger difference and perhaps even run such an organisation in my own country” says Charmaine.
This dynamic woman from Gauteng in South Africa is an image consultant, runs a modelling and etiquette school for young girls, a wife to Lee-Jon Ellis, mother to her 8 year old daughter proud to be the current Mrs Globe Classic SA. So how does she do it all?
“I am a very balanced person”, she says, “I have a routine. I have always been fit with a lot of energy and a clear mind to use my time to the best of my ability. My husband travels a lot for work, which also gives me more free time to pursue the things that are important to me.”
Charmaine enjoys the outdoors and a variety of sports, and is also very involved with Ark Animals, a shelter for puppies. She loves making a difference in the lives’ of others. “I want to give back as God has blessed me in so many ways”.
Charmaine entered the Mrs Africa pageant in 2016 because she wanted to be an inspiration to others and to be an example of what a woman can achieve with a positive outlook on life. She advises anyone wanting to enter a pageant to enter for the right reasons, “Know you are going to work hard, it’s all about charity and giving back while still being a mother, wife and looking glamorous. It’s all worth it in the end and you meet some amazing people and make friends for life. You learn something new every day”.
We wish Charmaine all the best in her final preparations before June.

First ever fashion show on top of a mountain happened in South Africa on the 25th of March 2017.
Hartbeespoort Youth Empowering Program brings dignity back to school girls who cannot afford sanitary wear.
Mrs Africa Hemisphere 2017, Lorna Greyling together with First Crew Productions and Pierre and Pauli Productions set the stage for the crowning of the first ever Mr and Miss Hartbeespoort 2017 at a most glamorous showstopping gala finale on top of the Harties Aerial Cableway on 25 March.
At about 17h00 guests started arriving to witness this historical moment as South Africa produces the first fashion show and youth empowering program on TOP OF A MOUNTAIN! The atmosphere was electric behind the scenes as the 10 gorgeous young girls and 4 handsome young men were preparing for the event of the century.
Face to Face Beauty School did their make-up and hair was done by Innovative Hair in Village Mall. They were accessorised by Honey Jewellery. These regular school students had NO prior modelling experience, yet through the youth empowerment program looked like professional models! “I am so proud of each of them for being brave enough to take this opportunity to face their fears and believe in themselves. Watching them on stage brought tears to my eyes, as just a couple of weeks ago, they were shy and weary of what lay ahead.” said Lorna.
Welcome drinks were served as the guests arrived on a red carpet to a beautiful live performance from the talented violinist, Lize Fourie, who led them up the walk way to take the cable cars to the top of the Magaliesburg Mountains. On top of the mountain, the glamorous hostess, Inés Duffey, directed them to the edge of the mountain where cheese and wine canapés where served on a wooden deck. The guests enjoyed a majestic sunset from the top of the Magalies Mountain range. At 18h00 the guests were surprised by a spectacular performance of lyrical dance from the Tanya Jacobs Dance School. At 18h30 our local and very talented singers of Pierre and Pauli Productions again surprised the audience with their momentary performance. Then, with the help of the famous Mrs South Africa show producer, Wayne Stafford and First Crew Productions, the audience was welcomed and brought to the entrance of the cable way to sit next to the runway where the MC, radio commentator, Johann Russouw, from RSG radio could welcome them.
This was followed by a spectacular first walk of the finalists entering in magnificent ball gowns from designer, Dennis Lloyd. The boys were wearing Zyle Clothing from African designer, Phumzile Ntuli who is famous for her Royal Bird Collection. Other designers hosted were Claris by Gerrit Pienaar and the final walk and crowning was done in Kyna Consili and Black Tie.
The crowning of Mr and Miss Hartbeespoort 2017 was the culmination of a youth empowerment programme which included a five-day finishing school where the young finalists learned the tricks of the trade from various industry specialists and professionals. The finishing school included etiquette and job interview coaching, a basic makeup course for the girls, a professional photo shoot, a personal portfolio, image consulting workshop, life coaching, nutritional and lifestyle coaching, as well as ramp and modelling training and workshops on confidence, life skills and purpose, to name just a few activities.
The first ever Miss and Mr Hartbeespoort winners were announced, crowned and a worthy sash was placed around their necks. The two winners, Jené Jansen van Vuuren and Conor de Waal are both from Hartbeespoort High School.
The money raised from this event was in aid of over 130 young teenage girls and provide them with safe, environmentally friendly and sustainable sanitary products that will last for up to 3 years. Dignity Dreams is a non-profit organization that provides an SABS approved product to bring dignity back to young girls in underprivileged communities. “Dignity Dreams is a cause close to my heart, and combining this with my burning desire to provide a platform to the youth to understand their purpose, find self-love and increase their confidence is a dream come true,” said Lorna.
Among the celebrity judges and guests were Mrs Africa 2015, Janet Potgieter; Mrs Globe 2015, Riana Mooi; Mr South Africa 2015, Armand du Plessis; and the second princess of Mrs South Africa, Kholofelo Mabusela; and show producer, Wayne Stafford and Hannelie Oosthuizen. Mr South Africa 2014 John Owens and his lovely wife, Chantelle were also among the guests and John assisted Lorna with the crowning of the winners.
A World first and a spectacular show was just the beginning for Lorna, as she sets off to America to be the first ever South African to compete in the Trans Continental world class pageant in Atlanta, Georgia on the 24th of May this year.

A picture speaks a thousand words and has a strong effect on the emotions of the viewer. Mrs Glamour Africa 2017, Bianca Birnie was invited by the Gauteng Education Department to visit the Zikhethele Secondary School in Devon.
During the tour of the school, a few of the students were dancing and she had decided to join in. The students had started teaching Bianca a few of their dance moves.
"It was a lot of fun and they made me so welcome", said Bianca.
The school is currently experiencing a lot of challenges with the maintenance of the buildings and with water supply, yet they are still dancing, smiling and making the most of the situation. The spontaneity of this moment captured, truly speaks a thousand words.
